Manwol's feelings are just scorn. Scorn for the girl for having killed her classmate. Scorn for that girl's parents who only want to cover up her crime. So it's justice, in a way, that these parents ended up killing their daughter's soul.
Now that her soul is gone, that just leaves her body for the ghost who's currently possessing it. The ghost of the girl who was murdered, and had possessed her murderer in a fit of rage, now doomed to continue living in that body for the rest of her life. But that too, feels like justice. Everything has a price. She possessed her, and now she has to live with those consequences too.
Manwol jerks out of the memory as soon as it ends, but the heat of those flames stays with her. Along with the fear in Maya's heart -- her despair, her anger at the injustice she'd had to endure and witness. ...It hits too close to home. Watching that girl, Espella, walk to her death. Feeling helpless to prevent it.
...It's a lot. It's more than what Manwol would have ever expected Maya to experience. The life of a ghost medium is not peaceful, but this is beyond channeling with the dead. This is trying to do the right thing even when it's the most painful thing to do. The memory fades but the sensation stays -- and Manwol, before Maya can run or react or say anything, immediately lets the words spill out]

Manwol looks pleased at the suggestion.]
Sure.
[and then a memory (4:48 to 6:46) will descend upon them!!

[ maya's not sure she could call it justice, either. ]
[ that girl still gets to live... but in the body of a murderer....? ]
I guess.... running a hotel is more than just pampering souls and helping them move on, huh...

It's only as complicated as humans are.
[which means it's very complicated]
...She's doing well, you know. That girl. It was hard for her at first, but I think her desire to live a better life won out in the end.

[ maya looks weirdly contemplative here. ]
But I'm glad she could make the best of it. When you have a second chance... that's what you should do.

I could probably learn a thing or two from her myself. Not that I can live live like her, but you know what I mean.
no subject
Yeah.... I know what you mean. I think it's pretty brave, what she's doing. She's making the world a little better.
[ while i try to decide which memeshare to drop on you ]
no subject
Well, I wouldn't go that far. She still has things to learn.
[manwol's just being mean, yu-na's a good girl]
no subject
[ okay :) ]

-- Did you die?

[ maya truly looks like she wants to bolt, as this plays out, but.... it's manwol, so she hesitates. ]
I'm... pretty sure I did, yeah.
[ manwol... would understand, right? ]
